“So I'm almost confident, I'm almost positive I saw that El Jobso said that the new iPod Touches would be online and in stores the same day. Just went down to my friendly neighborhood Apple store...no they don't have new ones. They probably won't have until the end of the week, but I could order them online. So I'm really very frustrated right now and the allergens at Bath and Body Works at the mall here didn't help matters either. So I'm going to go now before I start yelling at inanimate objects like this parking meter that's smirking at me. Bye.”

Rawr! Grr! Argh! Back to Russia!

I'm having a shitty day, a shitty week, mom's in full on Republican head-up-ass mode, and I want pretty much the entire planet to fuck off and die.

I never thought I'd actually want the idiots to be right about the Large Hadron Collider destroying the world. At this point, it'd be an improvement.

Heaving, breathless, heaving breaths...heaving!

ok...here's why I'm so ticked off today. I'll leave out the political debate with mom because it's still ticking me off, and that's not gonna change any time soon. The other stuff...well, I've calmed down a bit.

Two weeks ago Wednesday (Aug 27) I opened a new checking and savings account at a local credit union. They've got about 7 locations, based out of Kohler, WI, and they're building a branch in my town. My old local bank was being acquired by Harris Bank, whom I've dealt with and do not like, Sam I Am. So, I moved my money over to Kohler Credit Union, and patiently awaited my new debit card.

And waited.

And waited.

I figured Labor Day probably had something to do with it, but I wound up having to cancel a recurring payment on PayPal because I hadn't gotten the new info yet, and I had figured since I finally received the little PIN number notification thingy yesterday that I'd be getting my debit card today, and could jaunt down and pick up my shiny new iPod Touch 2.0.

Well, several things went wrong. First, no debit card. I talked to a customer service rep (after throwing my keys at the couch in anger) and, well...I don't know what they were doing for the first week, but it didn't get mailed out until 9/4. And of course the card and PIN number are sent separately for security. Second, went to the Apple Store at Bayshore, intending to use my Costco AmEx to buy it, and pay it off right away, and they looked at me like I was crazy for wanting the new model. Oh, it's not in stock yet? Really? Then why does the press release say:
The new iPod touch is available immediately for a suggested price of $229 (US) for the 8GB model, $299 (US) for the 16GB and $399 (US) for the 32 GB model through the Apple Store® (http://www.apple.com), Apple's retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers.
Called over to Mayfair's Apple Store, nope, not there, either. Try back at the end of the week.

And then I came home to see if the second of the two micro-deposits from PayPal hit my checking account yet, so I can sync that up, and I learn that Home Banking is down for 4 hours for site updates. No indication is given, however, from whence that four hour period commenced.

Also, disappointed that there's no camera on the new iPod Touch, and no increase in capacity. Happy about the speaker, and the price drop is welcome, but still...

I need to go to my Happy Place. And currently, that's the kitchen, cuz that's where my rum is.
