a public service announcement.

you all have heard me bashing Bush on here, and saying how pointless this war is. However, please never, ever take that as a sign that I'm dissing the men and women serving overseas. Odds are, they're just as unhappy to be over there as we are to have them there. So...if you've got the means, I urge you to take a gander at and see if there's something you can send to a needy serviceman or servicewoman that would make their lives a bit easier. It could be something as simple as a couple jumbo size bags of Skittles, or a variety pack of flavored coffee from Costco (non-decaf is preferred, it would seem), or some DVDs or computer games or books, or a few tubes of cortisone cream or a bottle of sunburn relief spray. Give it a look and see if you can't help them out a bit.

Alternatively, see if there's a USO office in your area, and see if they have any way for you to help out.

And with that, I'm turning Sally Struthers mode off.
