hot pocket about to call in sick
so the owners at my gym (they know my name, how cool is that?) have been gently prompting me to resume some weight training in addition to my cardio...so I've been doing a bit in the last week, but sticking with the machines, as the free weights are mostly a pain in the ass...

however, judging from the twingey cramp in my lower back, I think I may have overdone it a tad tonight...

the irony is that the cramp happened when reaching down to pick up my gym bag prior to leaving the locker room. That was cold, lower back muscle. That was real cold.

Were you lifting at your capacity? When I was training, I generally lifted less than half my own capacity. Doesn't feel like it's doing much, but it really does. Over time...

I was doing relatively low weights and letting two trips around the circuit work its mojo, but apparently something went awry.

Ah well...no lasting harm done. A couple ibuprofen, a couple rum and cokes and a decent night's rest and I'll be fine for cardio tomorrow.

Ugh. Sorry to hear that. Whatever doesn't kill ya makes ya wanna drink.

Be very careful when reaching down... If you know what I mean.
