Political question...

It kills me how, despite it being the most craven, blatant falsehood ever to escape from 'twixt two lips, no one ever comes out and says that someone is lying... it's always "being less than truthful" or "not telling the truth" or "engaging in intellectual dishonesty..." if it's demonstrable that the person is lying, why not just call a spade a spade and say so? Here, let me show you how easy it is.
Condoleeza Rice says that the Bush Administration advised President Carter against sitting down to try to broker a peace between Hamas separatists and Israel. "That is not true," says Chris's imaginary spokesperson for Carter, "Secretary Rice is lying and she knows it." At this, Secretary Rice took her ball and went home, saying the other kids on the playground were just too mean. "Y'all are just doo-doo heads," she shouted over her shoulder as she walked away.
See? That wasn't so hard, was it?
