got to court slightly late, no big deal, the judge was just going over stuff. then I waited. this wasn't a "one case at a time thing," oh no...this was a "everyone sits there listening to everyone else's crap" thing. (Name deleted by order of LiveJournal Abuse Team) was asked if he wanted to continue the order of protection. he said "in a way, yes." he accused me of slandering him in my livejournal here, which was moot, since that wasn't a danger to him, and invalid in this case. when asked how long he wanted it continued for, he replied "six months." is it just me, or is it quite a jump from "in a way, yes" to "six months?" I went on record saying that while I didn't think the order was still necessary, "if that's what Mr. (name deleted by order of LiveJournal Abuse Team) wants, I will respect and abide by it." I didn't feel like breaking down in front of a court room of people who legitimately needed protection. Since then I've partially reconsidered, and now would like a hearing. but that's not going to happen, so I've decided I just don't care anymore. The price is too high.

I don't think I care about anything anymore.

p.s. slander n.
Law. Oral communication of false statements injurious to a person's reputation.
A false and malicious statement or report about someone.
(italics are mine) if I was communicating false statements injurious to Dan's reputation here, it would constitute libel.

Note to Lisa: if you're going to put words in (name deleted by order of LiveJournal Abuse Team)'s mouth, at least make sure they're the right ones...

p.p.s. I've been instructed to remove the last name of a certain so-and-so from this post my the LiveJournal Abuse Team. Done and done. There's no need to get antagonistic about things, ya know. I hardly feel this constitutes "abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive to another's privacy (up to, but not excluding any address, email, phone number, or any other contact information without the written consent of the owner of such information), hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable" content, but, OK.

I miss California tremendously. I'm working on getting back there permanently. That is all (for now).
